244th Edenton Tea Party Celebrating 350th of Chowan County

The Edenton Historical Commission celebrates the 244th Anniversary of the Edenton Tea Party with Dr. Jeffrey Crow and Catherine Ward Bishir, North Carolina's Leading Lady of Architectural History. The program is at noon in the 1767 Chowan County Courthouse. Free program and includes a Box Lunch with advance ticket required by contacting 252-482-7800.

Later that day, Celebrate the 300th Birthday of North Carolina's Oldest House with the Edenton Historical Commission at 304 East Queen Street. A ceremony honoring the generous gift of the house to The Penelope Barker Foundation by Steve Lane in loving memory of his wife, Linda Lane at 4:30 pm, will be followed by a program at the 1767 Courthouse at 5:00 pm on the history and discovery secrets of the house. Colonial food and drink will be served at the conclusion of the program. No charge.
