Black History Month

In celebration of Black History Month, the Harriet Jacobs' tour includes added emphasis on local Black personalities which will include Jonathan Overton (1752-`853) who fought in the Continental Army, Joseph and Robert Price, who were noteworthy members of the 'free-blacks', reverent Simeon N. Griffith (1885-1983) an early civil rights pioneer, D. F. Walker a longtime educator and high school principal among others. Tours depart from the Historic Edenton State Historic Site, Visitor Center, 108 N Broad Street. Individual Group Tours arranged by appointment Tuesdays through Saturday throughout the month of February.
