BRUCE BARNETT RETROSPECTIVE

Celebrate the creative life and work of Bruce Barnett. During his life, Bruce's talents manifested as a metalsmith, sculptor, woodworker, painter, lapidary, and teacher.

Hosted by Maureen McCarthy, the Chowan Arts Council, & Pocosin Arts School of fine Craft, a selection of his work will be available for purchase. Sales will benefit the Chowan Arts Council and a Scholarship at Pocosin Arts in Bruce's name.

Please come and enjoy fellowship, wine and hors d'oeuvres.

Celebrate African American & Women's History Months

The Historic Edenton State Historic Site will feature Harriet Jacobs' Tours during the month of February and March in celebration of African American History and Women's History Months.

February Weekends for the Tours are: 1-2; 8-9; 15-16; 22-23

The tours will leave the Visitor Center at 108 N Broad Street at 3 pm each Friday and Saturday. The cost for the guided tour is $2.50.

African American Walking Tour

The guided tour will focus on African American Life in Edenton starting in the days before emancipation and ending during the quest for civil rights. The tour will also focus on prominent black leaders, businessmen, and educators from both Edenton and the surrounding Albemarle region. this program is expected to last around an hour and will cost $2.50 per person. Currently this program is limited to seven individuals.

Groups larger than seven who wish to attend this program should call the site's visitor center so proper arrangements can be made.
