Pirate Encampment Colonial Living History Weekend

In celebration of the 350th Anniversary of Chowan County - join the pirates as they spend the weekend in the 1767 Chowan County Courthouse Green. Activities for all ages, with Pirate Tales and also a Pirate raid on Edenton will be on tap throughout the weekend.

Pirates will set up on Friday, September 14 and Saturday, September 15th with the firing the cannon and much interpretation. Enjoy!

Due to the threat of Hurricane Matthew's travels into NC, the Pirates will be with family members and look forward to seeing everyone next fall in Edenton.

No Pumpkin Painting at this time - when rescheduled, will be posted.

"Music by the Bay at the Penelope Barker House"

In Celebration of Chowan County's 350th Anniversary, the Barker House Lawn alongside picturesque Edenton Bay will be the setting for monthly music concerts every 3rd Sunday afternoon from May through October. The musical groups will perform a variety of music: Jazz, Gospel, Americana, Blues, Bluegrass and Classic Rock and Roll. Student groups from area schools will also be invited to perform.

These events are FREE to attend so "bring your own chairs and picnics", first-come to get a spot on the lawn, so come early and make a day of it

U S Constitution Week

Constitution Week is a commemoration of America's most important document. It is celebrated annually during the week of September 16 - 22.

The United States Constitution stands as a testament to the tenacity of Americans throughout history to maintain their liberties, freedoms and inalienable rights.

Programs will take place in the 1767 Chowan County Courthouse and the Joseph Hewes Monument throughout the week as we celebrate the 350th Anniversary of Chowan County.

Stay tuned as the programs develop and become available for participation.

72nd Chowan County Regional Fair

"Celebrating 350 Years of Regional Growth" is this year's fair theme as Chowan County Celebrates their 350th Anniversary. During this celebratory year, the Fair will highlight Chowan's Heritage through exhibits, activities, amusement rides and entertainment with great food at the American Legion Fairgrounds!
