August is a great time to visit Edenton! This month, you can explore the endless history of Edenton, visit our shops downtown, stay at our B&Bs, and catch a glorious summer sunset over the Albemarle Sound from the porch of the Penelope Barker House.
There’s always something exciting to do in Edenton!
Join us downtown by the water at the Chowan Arts Council for the latest installment of the Summer Music Series. Fueston Brothers & Co will be playing on August 5, from 6-9 PM. GCF Smokehouse will be there with a food truck, and the Chowan Arts Council will also be open!
August 6 is National Lighthouse day. Celebrate the day by swinging by the iconic Roanoke River Lighthouse, where they will host free tours and family fun from 10-4 PM. If you haven’t had a chance to see our beloved lighthouse up close, you won't want to miss this opportunity.
Throughout August, the Gregarious Goose will continue to host numerous in-house events, including a public speaking course for 3rd-7th graders, Walk-in craft Saturdays, and painting classes. Call (252) 352-1450 with questions or to register.
Stop by the Edenton Bay Trading Company for Vinyl Night and Sangria Saturdays or Trivia Night on Wednesdays. The place is packed out, and you’ll be sure to laugh, make new friends, and have a wonderful time.
