What a year we’ve had in Edenton.
2022 was the biggest year we’ve ever had for tourism.
More than 2,000 people came out for the Christmas Candlelight Tour, filling our town.
Our hotels, inns, and vacation rentals were busier than ever, even in the “off-season.”
And we had new businesses, new restaurants, and new opportunities for our visitors pop up throughout the year.
But, we also saw the return of many familiar things, like the Boogie on Broad this last spring (though that feels like an eternity ago, given the recent weather we’ve endured all over the country).
Familiar favorites like the Cupola and Iredell houses saw streams of visitors, and the Chowan Arts Council had another extraordinary year.
It has been such a pleasure to be part of the community-wide collaboration as so many people and organizations came together to give all our guests an extraordinary experience whether they stopped over here for a single night, spent a long weekend meandering around town, or came here for a romantic getaway.
The secret is out, people are flocking to Edenton, and we are working hard to ensure things are even better next year.
All of us are catching our breath after another busy (and cold) holiday season.
But I want to plant a seed and invite you to visit Edenton sometime in 2023.
We’d love to have you, and I can’t wait to see you around our historic downtown, supporting our locally-owned shops and restaurants.
