A large selection of activities including Interpreted Site Tours, Period Workshops, and "hands on-make and take" Colonial Crafts Activities. Interpreted tours are conducted at various times throughout the day or by scheduling in advance, Tuesday - Saturday, varying in length and nominal pricing. Penelope Barker House Welcome Center

Home of  Penelope Barker, organizer of the 1774 Edenton Tea Party, Trolley Tours Monday, Wednesday-Saturday 10:30, 12:00, 2:30 embark from this location year round.  Trolley Tours are also available on Sundays April - through October  11:30, 1:00.  The center is open daily 10 am - 5 pm /at present closed Tuesdays with exhibits, rest rooms and a very nice Gift and Book Shop.  To learn more about the offerings visit:  ehcnc.org

  • Arrive at the Visitor Center in the morning
  • Restroom break and 14 minute audio presentation on the history of Edenton
  • Tour one, two, three or four public buildings or 1/2 take the trolley tour and others tour one of the buildings and then reverse
  • Lunch at one of the area restaurants
  • Take in a matinee performance at the Rocky Hock Playhouse (3 miles from Town)
  • Return home
