What We Are Thankful For In 2022

During this season of Thanksgiving, we at the Tourism Development Authority are reflecting on the many aspects of Edenton for which we are thankful. 

Over the past year, Edenton has experienced tremendous new growth.

If you haven’t visited Edenton recently, you’re missing out on new stores, new restaurants, and new economic developments.

As you walk down historic Broad Street, you’ll see several new businesses that have opened over the last year, like A Still Life,  as well as a variety of unique gifts and gift certificates available during the Christmas season. 

We are so thankful for these new business owners, as well as our established businesses, who have chosen to invest in our downtown. They are vital to serve our residents and tourists alike!

We are also thankful for new culinary options that have been added during 2022. 

The Cotton Gin Inn Culinary opened this past summer and offers unique brunch and hors d'oeuvres options, as well as fun cooking classes. We also have a new waterfront restaurant, The Herringbone, which recently celebrated its grand opening.  It offers a variety of dinner options, drinks, and even ice cream treats for all ages from Edenton’s famous trolley, now sitting alongside its beautiful new patio.

We are thankful for these new restaurants that have added to our already fabulous dining venues in Edenton.  Whether you are Christmas shopping or enjoying time with friends and family, come experience all of our delicious food options during this holiday season!

Finally, we are excited about the many economic developments that began in 2022. From the Jackson Dairy Project to the groundbreaking for the new high school, we are thankful for the continued growth that Edenton is experiencing.  

As we approach the end of 2022, Edenton has a lot to be thankful for, and I want to personally invite you to plan a trip to Edenton either this Christmas season or sometime in 2023.

There’s more to do here all the time, and you’ll be sure to create extraordinary memories that last a lifetime.
