Christmas [sort of] in July: Tickets are going on sale for the 2025 Christmas Candlelight Tour.

Even though it’s July, and it’s still hot on the Albemarle Sound, our thoughts are already beginning to turn to the holiday season and the 44th Annual Christmas Candlelight Tour!

Mark your calendars for December 12th and 13th, because the Christmas Candlelight Tour regularly draws visitors from all over North Carolina and beyond.

Why are tickets going on sale so early? This cherished event regularly sells out, and last year, they sold out months in advance. So, you’ll want to get tickets early.

The Christmas Candlelight Tour is a self-guided walking tour that explores Edenton’s most beautiful, significant, and historic homes and buildings. You’ll have the unique opportunity to explore beautifully decorated private homes and public sites along West King Street, Blount Street, and Pembroke Circle, all aglow with holiday cheer. As you wander, you’ll be serenaded by festive music and discover special holiday events all over.

Your tickets will be held for you at will-call pickup on the day of the Tour, and you’ll need to provide your name, address, email, and phone number at the time of purchase, so you can pick up your tickets. And, there are both single day and two-day tickets available.

You can buy them here.

Additionally, this year, there are two new add-ons to the event. First, you can pre-order the first-ever Penelope Barker House ornament! This limited edition, two-dimensional, enameled brass ornament will instantly become one of the most beautiful ornaments on your tree. Second, you can also include “A Very Merry Christmas at Hayes Farm,” too! This additional event, held on Friday, December 13th, 2025, and Saturday, December 14th, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, offers a unique opportunity to see the magnificent and historic Hayes Farm adorned in its holiday splendor.
