Don’t Miss Edenton’s 43rd Annual Christmas Candlelight Tour!

One of our favorite Edenton traditions, the Annual Christmas Candlelight Tour, returns this December.

Presented by the Edenton Historical Commission each year and showcasing some of Edenton’s most beautiful historic homes, it’s a can’t-miss event that drew more than 2,000 people last year!

And, although it is only August, time is running out to get your tickets for this beloved annual tradition.

Cozy fireplaces with glowing embers, Christmas trees trimmed with sparkling ornaments, and dining rooms set with the finest china for Christmas dinner, Edenton’s 43rd Annual Christmas Candlelight Tour offers residents and visitors a chance to enjoy exclusive access to many historic homes beautifully decked out for the holidays.

Over 2,000 attendees enjoyed last year’s sold-out tour, which focused on neighborhoods near the historic 1767 Courthouse with thirteen homes featured along East King Street and East Water Street in addition to the newly accessible Hayes Farm.

Along the tour route people enjoyed special caroling groups and musicians, while two horse-drawn carriages with jingle bells and the iconic Edenton Trolley shuttled folks between tour stops and hot chocolate stands.

With record-breaking attendance at last year’s tour, event organizers made some changes to accommodate more attendees this year.

Tickets are already on sale and, for the first time, you can buy single-day as well as two-day tickets!

The tour is Friday and Saturday, December 13th & 14th, and features historic homes along Edenton’s west side neighborhoods, including the magnificent Beverly Hall built in 1810 on West King Street.

Attendees will also be treated to a special choir handbell performance at Edenton Baptist Church and live Christmas music by the Wayne James Quartet at the nearby Holton-Boone House.

While Christmas seems a ways off yet, we encourage you to reserve your tickets now for this popular and beloved Christmas tour before they sell out!

To ensure the safety and well-being of attendees, residents, and homeowners, tickets are limited, and event organizers are expecting them to sell out well in advance of the holiday season.

Last year’s tour sold out in record breaking time, leaving many folks with regret at not securing their tickets sooner!

And, within a few weeks of being offered, this year’s tour has already seen close to half of the tickets sold.

So, make your plans now so you can join us this year and celebrate the magic of the season with Edenton’s tradition of spectacular lights and holiday displays.
