Whether you’re looking for something walkable to our downtown shops and restaurants or you’d prefer a water view overlooking the Albemarle Sound, Edenton has the perfect spot for your “home-away-from-home” while you’re visiting here.
October is a beautiful time to visit Edenton due to our temperate fall weather and gorgeous waterfront scenery.
The mornings are crisp and cool with refreshing breezes from the Albemarle Sound. The trees are showing off brilliant hues of oranges, yellows, and reds. And the waterfront is sparkling as the sun reflects off its surface and warms up the day!
Take a moment to relax in a comfortable rocking chair on “Edenton’s front porch” at the Penelope Barker House where you can bask in the sunshine while gazing out on the water. You’re likely to hear the cries of snow geese as they migrate to enjoy our more temperate weather.
From the Penelope Barker House Welcome Center, you can ride the Trolley where you’ll be regaled with stories of Edenton’s past, have a front row seat to view our stunning fall foliage, and discover the role that prominent Edentonians played in shaping American history.
