EDENTON, N.C. (Sep. 12, 2023) — Edenton is gearing up to host the world’s highest level of competitive bass fishing, Major League Fishing (MLF), in 2024. The sixth season of MLF’s Bass Pro Tour was announced in late August, slating Edenton as the host for stage five of the seven regular-season tournaments.

The prestigious event, a collaborative effort by Visit Edenton (Chowan County Tourism Development Authority), the Town of Edenton, and Harbor Towns Cruises, promises not only thrilling fishing action but also a significant economic boost for the local tourism and hospitality partners.

Spectators can experience Edenton’s signature hospitality as the top professional anglers around the world compete in catch, weigh, immediate-release format for millions of dollars and qualifications.

With the breathtaking waters of the Chowan River as the stage, the six-day competition will be broadcast live on MLFNOW! and streamed to the Major League Fishing app, MyOutdoorTV (MOTV) app, and, as well as repackaged for television broadcast on Discovery Channel and Sportsman Channel.

“We’re working closely with stakeholders to ensure that the 2024 MLF tournament becomes a resounding success for Edenton,” Visit Edenton Tourism Director Erienne Mizell shares. “This event holds great potential for showcasing our county’s beauty while fostering economic growth. We are excited to welcome participants and visitors to our lovely community.”

As preparations for the tournament are underway, Edenton is ready to shine as a premier destination for fishing enthusiasts and tourists in a way that will leave a lasting impact on the local economy and the hearts of those who visit.
