Sounds of Summer

There’s a new waterfront music festival coming to Edenton this summer, and we don’t want you to miss it!

Committed to highlighting the beauty and historic significance of the region, Visit Edenton, the county’s Tourism Development Authority, is proud to announce their upcoming waterfront event, Sounds of Summer, slated for Saturday, July 22, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m.

In a fresh take on the beloved Music and Water Festival, organizers have crafted a lively summer spectacle that celebrates Edenton’s coastal heritage and love for good music.

If you’d like to join in on the celebration, you can bring blankets and chairs to lounge on the waterfront green near the Roanoke River Lighthouse, or you can even sail your boat right up to the waterfront docks!

The festivities will begin with a fleet of local cuisine, as food trucks fill the lawn of Colonial Park

starting at 2:00 p.m.

Patrons can expect local favorites such as Kiia’s Way, Old Colony Smokehouse, Scoopy Ice Cream, Arctic Blast Snoballs, Corner Baking Co. and more.

The Chowan Arts Council will host free children’s crafts and activities in the park starting at 3:30 p.m.

Brewing up a brand new waterfront tradition, Visit Edenton will host a Beer Garden in collaboration with the newly-open restaurant, The Herringbone, starting at 3:00 p.m.

Make sure to bring your valid ID to make purchases at the Beer Garden.

As for the main event, the beach music phenomenon, The Band of Oz, will lead a waterfront concert from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.

You can join in with the locals, dancing or relaxing on Edenton’s waterfront lawn.

In the spirit of the perfect summer day, Sounds of Summer welcomes one and all to enjoy the live music, savory eats, and good company during this free community event.
